Since 2015 The Blank Educational project aims to accompany children and teens to discover Contemporary Art.
TB Educational explores new expressive languages and media, developing interpretation skills of artworks and promoting an alternative model of learning through the artistic heritage. The project is based on an inclusive method and on active participation.
Among the project activities there are workshops, meetings with artists at the school, studio visits and guided tours at museums, art galleries and temporary exhibitions.
The Blank Educational offers school workshops and learning projects based on different themes connected with ArtDate, the Contemporary Art Festival annually organized in Bergamo by The Blank dedicated to relevant contemporary issues.
The Blank Educational Staff collaborates with teachers to develop and promote resources and programs for school groups, ensuring meaningful, high-quality connections and resources for educators and their students.
TB Educational School Projects mission is to provide quality performing arts programs in support of arts integrated education, literacy, community development and engagement-encouraging multi-cultural awareness & understanding.
The artist Tea Andreoletti, idro-sommelier and mineral water taster, runs a water tasting workshop for middle school students.
Tea Andreoletti shares with the students her experimental and participatory artistic approach, involving them in a debate on the function of art.
Tasting a daily element like water becomes a way to stimulate the critical reflection on the many possible approaches to every aspect of life. You can either “drink” for a natural physical need or “taste”, choosing a multi-sensory and satisfying approach.
Starting from this experience the reflection moves to other aspects of life: how we make choices and take decisions, the way we approach knowledge, work and social life.
The project Talk with the Artist establishes a dialogue between secondary school students and artists in order to deepen the knowledge of the contemporary art world and to develop a connection between Art History and contemporary artistic practice.
A first meeting investigates the transition from the canonical languages of art to the new experimental ones.
As a further step, the artists engage in dialogue with the students on the artistic research offering the opportunity to have a dynamic insight on it.
Lastly, the students take part in a guided tour or a studio visit, actively exerting the skills acquired.
Since 2015, 33 artists participated in the project – Mariella Bettineschi, Mario Cresci, Alessandro Roma, Serena Vestrucci, DZT Collective, Cleo Fariselli, Ferrario Frères, Diego Marcon, Ornaghi e Prestinari, Francesco Pedrini, Alice Ronchi, Filippo Berta, Christian Fogarolli – and 11 schools became part of a wide network bringing more than a thousand children between the ages of 11 and 19 to approach Contemporary Art.
Cook with the Artist is a project dedicated to Catering Schools. The students discover Contemporary Art together with the artist Diego Marcon, author of the Neofolk Cuisine Manifesto (2014).
The young cooks and pastry chefs work in an experimental way creating a Neofolk menu for a special dinner for art lovers. Art and cooking engage a dialogue and enhance each other.
The event allows the audience to approach Contemporary Art in a direct and spontaneous way. At the same time, Diego Marcon’s art stimulates the preparation of a menu in which typical dishes of the local tradition are creatively revisited.
