On the occasion of QUA! The celebration for the bicentenary of the death of the architect Giacomo Quarenghi organized by Assessorato alla Cultura of Comune di Bergamo, The Blank proposes The Blank Kitchen with Fatma Bucak.
The Blank Kitchen is born with the aim to host in town some of the most interesting artists of the international scene and to make them come into contact with art lovers and curious through a transversal and unifying instrument such as food and cooking.
Fatma Bucak (1984) is an artist from Turkey who works between London and Istanbul.
In Italy Bucak is represented by the historical gallery Alberto Peola in Turin.
She works mainly with video and photography, structuring a research in which she interprets in first person the great archetypes of the origin of Mediterranean cultures and traditions, returning all their dramatic and narrative power.
She has exhibited in some of the most important European and American museums; her works are present in prestigious public and private collections.
On the occasion of The Blank Kitchen, Fatma Bucak has created a menu inspired by the culinary tradition of her homeland:
° Ottoman Cacik (Cucumber salad with yogurt and mint)
° Ottoman Hummus
° Dane-i sari (Pilaf rice made of saffron and chickpeas with vegetables, raisins, apricots)
° Mercimek koftesi (Spicy meatballs of red lentils)
° Tahinli kabak tatlisi (Pumpkin and walnut granola dessert)
The menu is prepared by Nuccio Longhi and the event is realized thanks to the indispensable collaboration of Castello Bonomi of Franciacorta and Bugan Coffee Lab.
